About SYNERGY AZ

Welcome to SYNERGY AZ, a non-profit, family-owned organization committed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to provide meaningful and enriching daily experiences that empower our participants and enhance their quality of life.

Siblings Bernadette Acedo-Ford, Melissa Dixon, Mike Acedo, and Regina Figueroa, born and raised in Tucson, came together in 2021 to establish SYNERGY AZ. Their aspiration was to launch an adult day treatment and activity center tailored for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, aiming to provide a purposeful and fulfilling day within a secure and uplifting atmosphere. Rooted in the family values imparted by their devout parents, which emphasized kindness, aid to the less fortunate, community service, and gratitude for blessings, these principles serve as the bedrock of their business.

As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SYNERGY AZ, Bernadette holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from the University of Arizona. With over 8 years of experience fostering positive relationships with Arizona Division of Developmental Disabilities officials, DDD Support Coordinators, members, and their families, she consistently upholds integrity, honesty, and authenticity in providing top-notch services to each individual. Dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Bernadette and her siblings wholeheartedly commit to ensuring that every member encounters a purposeful and fulfilling day. Recognizing the challenges faced by our members, our mission is to advocate for them, ensuring their voices are heard, their worth is recognized, and they have the opportunity to showcase their abilities.
